Why this price

An RYA school course costs £245–£298

Online Day Skipper theory courses from RYA training centres are one-off fees of about £245 to £298, with a year's access, a printed chart pack and the RYA certificate when you pass their assessment. That's the right buy if you need the certificate.

We don't issue the certificate

Sail Academy isn't an RYA training centre and doesn't award RYA certificates. We teach the same syllabus and get you ready for the exam, so we charge about a third as much over a year.

What you can't get elsewhere

Simulators where you actually dock, berth and anchor a boat with prop walk, wind and tide, with catamaran handling called out everywhere it differs. The films, your saved progress and the course updates keep coming for as long as you're a member.
